First-Time User?
Using Real Simple Syndication or RSS is a great way to avoid spam and junk email
and to organize and read the information you care about.
RSS delivers news from the Web sites you want to read, directly to what's known
as a newsreader. This software periodically checks each RSS channel to which
you have subscribed, updates recently published news items and displays the
results.
Here's how to get started:
First you need to download a newsreader also known as an aggregator or RSS
reader. To locate and download a newsreader do an internet search through
your favorite search engine and look up "news aggregator" or "rss
aggregator". Remember, many but not all of these readers are free.
Other
RSS readers are listed here
The process for subscribing will differ between various readers but here are
some general guidelines. When you see the orange
or
button
and click on it, you will see a page with something called "tagged data". This
is an XML file. You do not need to understand or worry about
what the data means but you will use the web address (URL) in the top of
your browser to subscribe. In most cases you will copy and
paste the URL into your RSS Reader and then follow your reader's directions on
how to subscribe. It's that easy. If you have problems subscribing
please consult with your RSS reader's documentation first. If you feel
there is an error with the feed itself please contact the ApHC at
webmaster@appaloosa.com.
