MOSCOW, IDAHO — Appaloosa Journal is thrilled to announce it has been awarded a 2021 APEX Award for Publication Excellence!
“This marks the tenth year in a row our magazine has received top honors.” said AJ editor Dana Russell. “I hope our members are as proud as I am of the outstanding talent and commitment to excellence displayed by our ‘small but mighty’ magazine team. A win for our magazine is a win for our great breed!”
Prevailing among nearly 1,200 nationwide entries, AJ was recognized in the prestigious category of Design & Illustration: Covers for its September/October 2020 Foal & Yearling issue.
APEX competition coordinator Ken Turtoro said, “Overall, this year’s entries displayed an exceptional level of quality. The APEX judges saw only the most promising publications that professional communicators could enter. From them, they had the truly difficult task of selecting the award-winning entries.”
Now in its 33rd year, the APEX competition is sponsored by Communications Concepts, Inc., which advises publishing, public relations, and marketing professionals on best practices in print, web, and publishing.
Begun in 1946, Appaloosa Journal is the official publication of the Appaloosa Horse Club and is one of the longest-running, award-winning equine breed journals in the world and reaches readers in all 50 U.S. states and more than 23 other countries, both in print and online.
